Job Description:

Key Tasks & Responsibilities

To support the depot manager in people skills, administrative and sales tasks with back-up responsibility for the effective running of the branch.

Efficient running of the trade counters and related tasks.

Ensuring that staff are working in an efficient, effective and engaged manner – to their personal strengths and goals and encouraging development of their skills.

Successful conclusion of sales related activity arising from showroom visits by customers and customer phone enquiries.

Support the depot with admin and stock control.

Provide support with buying for the branch.

Depot security and to comply with company's Health and Safety procedures.

Various cross over roles within the depot to ensure maximum efficiency of time and staff and ensuring first class customer service.

Most training will be carried out on the job but some of training will be carried out in the Inverness branch so ability to travel and work from other locations will be necessary on occasion.

Any other reasonable tasks as requested by line manager or management team.

Finalised orders processed through the electronic point of sale system (EPOS)

Excellent customer service being provided by all staff at all times

Counter staff working to the best of their abilities by balancing their trade counter duties with their additional areas responsibilities

All showroom stock labelled, priced, stock coded and bin located

All staff working within MIS processes and procedures

Preferred Skills:

Preferred - Undergone recognised product/equipment training and typically has had at least 1 year’s direct customer/counter sales experience selling industrial equipment and materials.

Required – Excellent communication and people skills

Required - Excellent numeric and literacy skills.

Required - Basic IT skills.

Required - Basic knowledge of systems, equipment and processes.

Required - The confidence to deal with a wide range of customer enquiries and requests.

Required - The ability to work on their own, and make decisions relevant to the successful outcome and conclusion of the efficient running of the branch when required.

Required - Be confident in ordering of new/existing parts for workshop from suppliers websites.

Required - Ability to respond positively to new challenges and change
